The senate has just begun debate on SF2337, the HHS Omnibus bill.  This is the bill that includes mandatory transitional consultation for prospective housing with services tenants as well as a 5% rate cut for EW Customized Living and 24-hour Customized Living providers.  Aging Services on MN is opposed to these provisions.

The bill also includes a nursing home surcharge but no cuts to nursing homes.

Aging Services of Minnesota, with our partners in the LTC Imperative, sent a letter to all members of the Minnesota Senate registering our concerns with the HWS provisions.

Not yet mentioned this evening is the the impact of the MN Supreme Court’s decision overturning the governor’s 2009 unallotments on the HHS budget.

As we did last night with the House bill, Aging Services will continue posting updates throughout the evening.
