The House has allocated 9 hours for debate on the HHS omnibus budget bill.  Unfortunately they have yet to begin debating the bill.   The House is currently debating a bill on electronic health records — which as usual means a long discussion of privacy concerns.

In other news, it appears Gov. Pawlenty will hold a 4 PM press conference announcing his new balanced budget that does not include the $408 million in enhanced federal Medicaid dollars MN has been expecting.  The governor, House, and Senate all use the $408 million to balance their current budget proposals and not make deeper cuts to health and human services.

More information on the Governor’s announcement and updates from the House floor HHS bill debate will be posted as they come.
